BASIC FIRST AIDS PROCEDURES

 

1           ASSESSMENT

2           AIR WAY

Ensure the air way is clear. if the person is unconscious ,tilt their head back and lift the chin to open the airway.

3           BREATHING

Check if the person is breathing, look, listen, and feel for breaths. If not breathing, start CPR.

4           CIRCULATION

Check for a pulse and signs of circulation. If there is no pulse, continue with chest compression s and rescue breaths

5           CONTROL BLEEDING

Apply direct pressure to wounds to stop bleeding. Use clean clothes or bandages.

6           TREAT FOR SHOCK

Lay the person down and elevate their legs. Keep them warm and reassured.

7           BURNS

Cool the burn under running water for at least 10 minutes. Cover with a sterile dressing.

8           FRACTURES  AND SPRAINS

9           CHOKING

Perform Heimlich maneuver if the person is choking. Encourage them to cough if they can.

10     POISONING
