✏ STUDENT TASK — Practical 2 |
Task 2.1: Create a file named 'index.html' in your practical2 folder. Build a complete personal profile page for yourself as a Newgate University student. It must include: your name as h1, a short bio paragraph, a table of your current courses, an unordered list of your hobbies, and at least one link to a Nigerian website you visit regularly. |
Task 2.2: Add a second page called 'department.html'. It must contain: an h1 with your department name, a paragraph describing the department, an ordered list of 5 careers available to IT graduates in Nigeria, and a link back to index.html. Link the two pages together. |
Task 2.3: Validate both your HTML files at validator.w3.org. Screenshot the results. If any errors are found, fix them and re-validate until you get '0 errors'. Submit screenshots of both before and after fixes. |
Task 2.4 (Research): What is the difference between HTML, XHTML, and HTML5? Write a structured comparison in your report (at least 6 sentences) covering: syntax strictness, browser compatibility, and which is recommended today and why. |
Task 2.5 (Creative): Build an HTML-only page about a Nigerian city of your choice (e.g., Minna, Abuja, Kano, Lagos). Include: a heading, 2–3 paragraphs of information, an image (use a URL from the web), an unordered list of attractions, and a table comparing the city to one other Nigerian city across 4 categories. |
