Based on what we learned in this module, the goal should be balanced nutrition, not restriction. Complex carbohydrates such as whole grains e.g., millet, brown rice are actually beneficial because they provide fiber, which helps control blood sugar levels. As nurses, we can help educate our community on portion control and healthy food combinations instead of promoting total avoidance.
