Discussion: Preventing Type 2 Diabetes


Type 2 diabetes can be prevented if we make healthy choices in our daily lives. Eating good and natural foods like fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains helps the body use sugar properly. Reducing sugary foods, soft drinks, and fried snacks also keeps our blood sugar balanced. Regular exercise such as walking, jogging, dancing, or even doing house chores helps control body weight and improves how insulin works in the body.


In my community, I have noticed that more people are joining early morning exercise groups and eating more local meals like boiled yam, beans, and vegetables instead of fast foods. This change has helped reduce weight gain and made people feel more active and healthy.


It is also important to stop smoking, limit alcohol intake, and go for regular medical checkups to monitor blood sugar levels. Living a healthy lifestyle helps prevent type 2 diabetes and promotes overall wellbeing.
