To prevent type 2 diabetes mellitus through lifestyle changes some of these are required.

1.Increase fiber intake: Fiber slows the absorption of sugar, which prevents sharp spikes in blood glucose. Foods rich in fiber include fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains.

2.Choose healthy fats: Unsaturated fats, found in sources like nuts, seeds, avocados, and certain cooking oils (like olive or sunflower oil), support heart and vascular health. In contrast, limit saturated fats from processed meats and full-fat dairy.

3.Reduce processed foods and added sugars: Sugary beverages, white bread, pastries, and highly processed snacks are quickly digested and can raise blood sugar. Switch to water as your primary beverage and choose whole foods instead.           

In my community at paiko Minna , Moringa which is also called (Zogale) in hausa is a medicinal plant whose leaves are consumed as food. So many people in the community uses moringa as part of their dietary need in different foods, including in salads or stews like miyan zogale. Moringa has been documented for its anti-diabetic properties.
